DUBAI’S MARQUEE racecourse Meydan will start and end the 2019/20 UAE racing season according to fixtures that have been approved by HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE, Minister of Presidential Affairs and chairman of Emirates Racing Authority (ERA). The season will offer 67 race dates, equalling its record offer of 2018/19, and opens at Meydan Racecourse on Thursday, 24 October 2019. The campaign ends at Meydan on Friday, 10 April 2020. After the initial Meydan fixture, Abu Dhabi Racecourse and Jebel Ali Racecourse will commence their seasons on the following two Fridays, 25 October and 1 November, respectively.
Sharjah Racecourse gets underway eight days later on 9 November, while Al Ain Racecourse does the same the following Thursday, 14 November. As during 2018/19, Meydan’s season will have 23 meets, Abu Dhabi 15, Al Ain 12, Jebel Ali 11 and Sharjah six. HH Sheikh Mansoor bin Zayed said: “We are pleased to announce the ERA race fixture for the racing season 2019/2020, which will provide the trainers and horse lovers an integrated season on the UAE’s five racecourses. Through this fixture list, we offer local and international races for the Thoroughbred and Arabian horses.”
