Widely regarded as the world’s most international bloodstock sale, the 2019 renewal of the Tattersalls December Mares Sale as ever combines the best of British and Irish breeding stock, including Part 1 of the Waddesdon Stud Dispersal, with significant consignments from throughout Europe, as well as the return of top American outfit Taylor Made Sales Agency which made its European sales debut last year.
Classic producer Coplow, carrying to Kingman, is one of 15 mares catalogued in foal to the outstandingyoungBanstead Manor based sire, with others including the Group One winner Thistle Bird, who promises to beamongst the highlights of the Waddesdon Stud Dispersal. Banstead Manor’s other illustrious resident Frankel is also wellrepresented with five mares in foal to him including Grade Onewinner Sophie P. In total the catalogue includes 122 Group and Listed winners or producers and mares in foal to 22 of the current top 25 active British and Irish sires. Blueblooded Group and Listed-winning fillies are always much sought after at the December Sale and in addition to Group One winner Mabs Cross, the December catalogue features recent Group Twowinning 2yo Shadn and Group 2 Norfolk Stakes winner Shang Shang Shang, as well as 2019 Group Three winners Dandhu, Etoile, Four White Socks, Hostess and Yulong Gold Fairy.
The annual hugely popular drafts from Godolphin, Juddmonte Farms and Shadwell Stud number 44, 46 and 29 respectively. The single in foal mare coming from the great French nursery Haras du Quesnay also looks set to be amongst the headline acts. Named Terre, the winning 5yo in foal to Siyouni is a full-sister to the legendary dual Arc winner Treve.
