In what was one of the best performances of the day Sir Michael Stoute schooled Veracious made all to win the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket.
Ridden by Oisin Murphy, the 4yo Frankel filly went to the front and stayed there showing good of determination to score her first top level victory and in turn provide her rider with his first Group One success of the year.
At the post Veracious held off the challenge of One Master to win by a neck with I Can Fly a further two and three quarters of a length behind.
Murphy said: "These good horses are so hard to get on.
" This is my first Group One of the season and I'd like to extend my thanks to Sir Michael and owners Cheveley Park.
"The team have done a super job with this filly and I'm really thrilled. She takes her racing well and after things didn't really go to plan at Ascot last time the owners were very kind to let me keep the ride."
