A CLASSIC winner and already a successful broodmare, the 12yo Talent, a daughter of New Approach and winner of the 2013 Group 1 Oaks at Epsom, foaled a colt foal by Too Darn Hot early on Saturday morning at Luke Lillingston’s Mount Coote Stud in Co.

Limerick, Ireland. “He is very nice,” Lillingston said. “He looks a strong foal. He’s good looking and strong, and I can say both of those things with a degree of confidence.” Talent, who was also runner-up in the Group 1 St Leger and third in the Group 1 British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes during her Classic campaign, has made a strong start as a broodmare, her first foal being Ambition, a daughter of Dubawi, who won at Pattern level during each of the past three seasons.

Ambition beat subsequent Group One winner Grand Glory when she won the Group 2 Prix Corrida in 2020 for trainer Xavier Thomas-Demeaulte, after which she was second in the Group 1 Prix Jean Romanet. Ambition won the Group 3 Prix Fille de l’Air on 11 November on her final start, and will be covered by Frankel this year.

Talent’s newly turned 4yo Pretty Fair, a Dubawi filly, won at the second attempt last year for Simon and Ed Crisford, while her 3yo Sea The Stars colt, Aerospace, is in training with John and Thady Gosden for Godolphin. He was fourth on his sole racecourse appearance.
