Andre Fabre schooled Morgan Le Faye continued her rich 2019 form with an impressive two length success in the Group 2 Prix Corrida at Saint-Cloud on Monday. Victory in the extended 10f event marked the biggest success of the 5yo Shamardal mare's career, who has now maintained her upward curve and followed up on her prior Listed and Group Three event wins this year.
Morgan Le Faye broke smartly from the stalls and settled in at fourth in the group of six, with Mickael Barzalona asking her to go in the final straight. Once in the home stretch, she flew, taking the lead inside the final furlong and racing away to a two length victory over Listen.
She could now be aimed at the Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud over 2400m with Godolphin France representative Lisa-Jane Graffard commenting: “Morgan Le Faye won impressively and the obvious next step is a Group One contest with options including coming back to Saint-Cloud for the Gr1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud or we could give her a break and bring her back for the fillies’ Group One races later in the year.”
