JEBEL ALI RACECOURSE management, in cooperation with the Dubai Horse Racing Information Centre (DHRIC) and Al Adiyat Magazine, who will be managing and compiling results for the competition, have launched a new and unique electronic PickSix competition for Jebel Ali racing which takes place tomorrow Friday, as well the forthcoming Jebel Ali fixture meeting on 3 April 2020, through the websites of Jebel Ali and Al Adiyat. The launch of this competition is in tune with higher policies of the country aiming to continue the horse racing season and communication with fans, despite challenges of them not being physically present at the track.
Engineer Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, Director General of the office of racecourse patron His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, explained: “This step was taken in line with the official measures regarding the continuation of racing without the general public as a precaution against the Coronavirus panademic, based on the vision of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, founder and sponsor of the Jebel Ali racetrack. “This competition gives fans the chance to watch races on television or online and be a part of it, real time by selecting winners online.” Engineer Shareef Al Helwani, Director of Jebel Ali racecourse, added: “The innovative idea of a remote Pick Six competition is a way for the racecourse to display gratitude and appreciation to fans for their continued support .”
“We, the Jebel Ali management, will keep the money prize at its traditional Dh40,000 as per previous meetings, but through an electronic competition with a few added terms and conditions. “In setting up this competition, which is held in cooperation with DHRIC and Al Adiyat, we made sure that the choosing system is easy and simple to allow users to feel as if they are in the racecourse.” Director and Manager of DHRIC Ahmed Mohammed Abdullah Al Sarookh praised the launch of this competition as a breakthrough in the field of horse racing, stating that the measures taken in these new times offer a new product to the list of smart services provided in Dubai.
He said: “Based on the experience of DHRIC in organising and managing competitions and keeping in contact with the fans, we expect this competition will be a successful one.” The Jebel Ali Racecourse management allocated Dh40,000 in cash prizes to the winners of the competition in accordance with the regulations specified in the competition terms, and the distribution of prizes will be for the winners with the highest success as followed in the races held at Jebel Ali Racecourse as usual, and according to the approved official results from the Emirates Racing Authority (ERA), including any amendments that occur thereafter until the moment of awarding the prizes, and the winners will receive their prizes in cash from the Dubai Real Estate Office.
Registration of participants in the competition requires the completion of simple steps and then selecting the horses to be nominated in each race according to the time and the method specified in the conditions, where one horse for each race is chosen from the horses nominated by each participant, and it will be viewed automatically. The participation process begins by entering the Jebel Ali Racecourse website www.jebelaliracecourse.com, or through the website of Al Adiyat magazine www.aladiyat.ae which are all linked to one website for the competition, and choosing the link shown on the screen. Afterwards, the contestant creates an account that requires writing his first middle and last name according to the passport or Emirates ID card, e-mail, and age (children under 15 years of age are not allowed to participate). After choosing a username and password and creating the account successfully, agreeing to the terms and conditions, the person is eligible to participate and start the competition.
