Emirati trainer Helal Alalawi enjoyed success as an owner at Dax in France where Haka Du Soleil marked his racecourse debut with victory in the Prix Dahman.

The 2300m race for 3yos is part of the Wathba Stallions Cup and carried Conditions status with Munjiz colt Haka Du Soleil, trained by Francois Rohaut and ridden by Valentin Seguy, coming good in the straight to win by a head from Philippe Sogorb’s Ramrod Py, the ride of A Gutierrez Val.

In what was a keenly contested finish, Xavier Thomas-Demeaulte’s Ioritz Mendizabal piloted race favourite Farhaan was a further neck back in third.
