Enhanced cooperation and coordination with UAE based trainers and racecourses appears top priority for the new Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) board as it looks to raise the bar for the sport in the Emirates.
Mohammed Saeed Al Shehhi, ERA Board Member and General Manager, chaired a meeting recently which was attended by Major General Mohammed Issa Al Adhab, the Director General and Board Member of Dubai Racing Club, Sharif Al Halawani, Manager of Jebel Ali Racecourse, and Sultan Al Yahyai, Director General of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club (SERC).
Among those present at the meeting hosted by Dubai Racing Club, were the ERA’s Yasser Mabrouk and Sam Shinsky. The 2021/22 Emirates Racing Season gets underway at Jebel Ali Racecourse on 29 October and Al Shehhi said the meeting was held as per the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of Presidential Affairs and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ERA, and Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum, the Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors of the ERA.
Al Shehhi stated that the ERA will keep open channels of communication with trainers, jockeys and others in the industry to know their opinions and suggestions.
Al Shehhi stated: “Our doors will remain open to all those in the industry as we consider them our partners, and their success is considered ours. We all have one vision, which is to advance horse racing in the country to a new level of development according to the directives of our leadership.”
