It has been confirmed that, after years of lobbying by Sheikh Hamdan and Shadwell, the British Horseracing Association (BHA) has approved the integration of the Arabian Racing Organisation (ARO) into the regulatory infrastructure of British Racing. In a letter from Richard Lancaster, Shadwell Stud Director, to Mirza Al Sayegh, Director of The Office of Sheikh Hamdan, Lancaster confirmed the above and added: “This is what we have all been working for over the years. I was able to tell Sheikh Hamdan in a telephone conversation on Thursday. “Much hard work has gone into lobbying the various committees of the BHA. I know your letter to Charles Gregson added extra weight to the discussions at a critical moment in the negotiations. “I hope this will bring a new and exciting chapter to Arabian racing in the United Kingdom. It is very much thanks to Sheikh Hamdan’s support and vision that this has come about.”
