The juveniles were the centre of attention in Britain on Saturday, pride of place going to Newbury’s 6f Group 2 Dubai Duty Free Mill Stakes, seven 2yos taking their chance and Sakheer ran out the impressive winner for KHK Racing and trainer Roger Varian, David Egan in the saddle.

An expensive son of Zoffany, the colt has now, arguably, won enough to justify his €550,000 price tag for Bahraini owners and has won both starts since runner-up on debut.

Varian said: "We're having a good day, but it's not always like that. I'm delighted and you never expect for it to go how it's gone so far, but we ran some nice horses.

"There are big fields and the racing is competitive, but everything is clicking and it doesn't usually happen like that."

Twelve speedsters had their moment in the spotlight contesting the 5f Group 3 Dubai International Airport World Trophy Stakes and UAE stalwart Fawzi Nass was celebrating success after Mitbaahy scored under David Egan.

The 3yo Profitable colt, talso rained by Varian, is owned by Nass in partnership with Hasan Mefareh Aljami.
